Holiday Tablescape Realized

Hmmm, can I still post about my Christmas table in January? The Holiday's may be over, but I'm still in the "recovery phase". I know there was food. I'm pretty sure we baked pounds of sweet treats. There were dozens of Hot Cocoa's. Christmas Carols filling the daily air. There may have been Champagne. Okay fine, there was a good amount of Champagne...(more like A LOT). There was definitely stress. There was joyful anticipation. There was a valiant effort to hit every Holiday-Light-Show-Carol-Singing-Snow-Dropping event that SoCal had to offer. There was my absence from blogging. There was a sick toddler & an ER visit, just 30 hours before Christmas Eve. And a Tablescape, Buffet & Bar to create. For 15 Guests. ON Christmas. For a Sit Down Dinner...oh, AND, Santa had to "arrive" (this is WHY there was Champagne, people).

In a previous blog post I mentioned having FUN with your tablescapes, remarking that this year I would be creating new traditions while playing with not so traditional colors.  I'm happy to report  (and a bit relieved) that the tablescape turned out delightfully glamorous. Just the right amount of teal, pink, plum, gold and chartreuse to really make things dazzle this Holiday.  But my favorite part of this years design has to be the Reindeer Bar. Here's how it all turned out....

For the Buffet I used neutral flowers surrounded by amber lights, a raw wood carving board accented by copper, gold and fresh Clementine & Thyme:

For the Sit-Down Dinner I explored NEW colors using teal, plum, raspberry, pink, chartreuse, gold, copper & ivory:

Last, but certainly not least...THE BAR! Here I had fun creating a Reindeer Bar, cause who wouldn't want to join in THOSE Reindeer games:

When it's all said-and-done (chaos included) it really IS the most wonderful time of the year! I love hosting, exploring new design concepts, and any excuse to drink Champagne ;)  So here's to a New Year filled with more beauty, entertaining & design.

Happy New Year!
